Web Hosting

I started making websites back in 1998. The first hosts I used were Geocities, Tripod, and Angelfire. Back then the advertisements were easily defeatable and bandwidth wasn't an issue. I also didn't know any server-side code, so I saw no reason to make the jump to a paid hosting service. However, I eventually needed more file space, more bandwidth, and support for ASP, so about 5 years ago I started looking around for a good web host and found SuperB Hosting to offer the best service for the money. I have stuck with them since and have opened up other websites at SuperB and recommended them to friends and clients.

If you are also looking to make the jump from a free ad-supported server to a serious web hosting service and domain name, SuperB is a great choice. Their basic hosting service, which is what I currently use, includes 50 GB of file space, 750 GB of transfer, displays no advertisements, includes various server-side coding support, and is less than half the cost of an average online RPG subscription. Go here and scroll down to "Shared Website Hosting" for more information. The "Universal Website Hosting" plan is the one I use, and is perfect for small and medium level websites.

A quick note: If you plan to use ASP or ASP.NET server-side coding on your website, you'll want to get the Windows server. If you won't be using server-side code, or are using PHP, the Unix server will be a better choice and is less expensive.

Now you might ask me, why am I advertising here for SuperB Hosting? Do I get anything out of it? Well yes, I do have an affiliate program with them; however, I wouldn't recommend them, nor stick with them for 5 years, if I didn't feel that they offer one of the best web hosting and domain services around. I recommend that you take a look at what they have to offer:
